Further context on approach to drainage asset management

Wirral Council has recently purchased two new gully cleaning vehicles, recognising the drainage asset management challenges presented by more frequent severe rainfall events and ageing infrastructure. This additional resource will allow us to strengthen our proactive approach to drainage maintenance and minimise disruption caused by highway flooding. Additionally, a contract has been recently awarded to periodically survey all highway gullies and record data on the condition and silt levels to then produce a risk-based cleansing schedule, ensuring maintenance operations are needs focused and provide maximum value for money. |
