Our commitment

As Corporate Parents, we are dedicated to championing the rights, needs, and aspirations of every child and young person in our care and care leavers—regardless of their background, identity, or life experiences. We commit to providing an environment where all care-experienced children and young people feel safe, respected, and valued.

We acknowledge that discrimination, unconscious bias, and systemic inequality can adversely affect life outcomes. Our role as Corporate Parents is to actively challenge these issues and ensure equitable support for those who may face additional barriers.

Our approach

We will:

  • Uphold our duties under the Equality Act 2010, ensuring all protected characteristics are respected and upheld in policy and practice.
  • Promote a culture of anti-racism, inclusion, and belonging across all services working with looked-after children and care leavers.
  • Apply an intersectional lens, recognising that a young person may face multiple and overlapping forms of disadvantage.

Our promise

We will not be passive in the face of inequality. We will act boldly, listen deeply, and work tirelessly to ensure every young person in our care can thrive, without exception.
