Local money and debt advice

  • Wirral InfoBank provides information on a huge range or organisations offering advice and support, including work, education, debt, training, and mental and physical wellbeing
  • Ask Us Wirral is a partnership of Citizens Advice Wirral, Age UK Wirral, Wirral Change and Wirral Mencap, supported by Wirral Council. It offers advice on a wide range of issues, including benefits, debt, housing and work.
  • Involve Northwest has a dedicated team of advisors.

  • Money Helper offers guidance and support on everyday money matters and worries.
  • National Debtline offers free and independent debt advice over the phone and online
  • Benefits Checker on GOV.UK allows you to find out what support you could get to help with living costs. Independent and anonymous benefits calculators are also available at GOV.UK
  • Crisis Support with White Goods:
    Community-based partners, North Birkenhead Development Trust and St Vincent de Paul Society (Wirral), can provide white goods and other essential items to vulnerable households who do not qualify through the council's Emergency Financial Support scheme.

  • Emergency Financial Support
    Wirral Council can provide financial support for individuals and families in crisis situations. This may include assistance for those leaving care, hospital, prison or similar, to help them to become established in the community. The scheme can contribute towards necessary items and expenses, including essential and specialist food needs, furniture and household goods, white goods, fuel and utilities including phone and broadband bills and some medical expenses.
