We promote opportunity for all children and young people in Wirral
Wirral values and prioritises a strong universal offer for families, we acknowledge that every family faces challenges at some point in their lives, so it is important we offer services that are accessible for all. We know that some families find it challenging to access services in the community, therefore we pledge as part of this plan, that we will take services to them, be that via outreach or in the family home, to provide a service for all children in Wirral. We don’t believe anyone is hard to reach and investing in systemic practice has enabled the whole partnership workforce to foster strong relations with families, improving outcomes.
We do the right things for children and families
When families face challenges we will support them at the earliest opportunity, whatever the challenge. We will help the family stay together, overcome barriers and be flexible in how we offer support to meet their needs. We know that evidence-based parenting courses are important, we also acknowledge that families often face challenges that mean our services are not accessible to them. We pledge to change this.
Children who come into care are better off because of it
For children that come into local authority care, we pledge to give them the opportunities that all children are offered. We as a system, will support carers to give children the very best start in life. For parents who have been looked after, our Personal Advisors will ensure they are provided with all the help and support they need.
