Birkenhead Reference Library is our main reference resource. It is staffed throughout normal library open hours and offers quiet study space, computers, Hublets, microfiche, film and a wide range of reference materials.

Birkenhead Reference staff hold a weekly drop-in at the Family History Helpdesk for any in-person enquiries. There is no need to book.

We are open the same times as the main Birkenhead Central Library.

Accessibility

The reference library is on the first floor and is not accessible via lift. Where possible we can bring resources downstairs for you to look at.

If you require specific assistance, please email or phone in advance.

A smaller reference library is situated in Wallasey Central Library and is manned by volunteers. Opening hours are restricted to their availability. It is advisable to contact the library before visiting. 

Some reference material can also be found at Bebington Central Library.
