The subscription is for fortnightly collections from 1 June 2026 to 31 May 2027. Collections will not take place over the Christmas and New Year period as follows:
- there will be no garden waste collections between 22 December 2026 and 18 January 2027
- when the service re-starts your collection day will be the next scheduled collection day following 18 January on your usual fortnightly cycle
Only bins with a valid 2026-27 subscription will be emptied.
Payment is by credit card or debit card. You have a right to cancel this service and obtain a full refund within 10 working days from the date you subscribed. If you have received a collection within this period, a refund will not apply.
Refunds for missed collections only apply if the bin has been missed on three consecutive occasions.
All garden waste must be contained within the brown bin, with the lid closed. We will not empty bins that are too heavy, if waste is compacted, contaminated (including soil) or bagged waste.

If you move house you will be need to purchase a new subscription for your new address, unless a subscription for the new address already exists. You cannot transfer existing subscriptions to a new address and no refund will be issued.
If the new property has no bin, and you purchased the bin at your current property, you can take your bin with you.
You are responsible for any loss or damage to your bin other than through the negligence of the council’s waste collection contractor.
If your brown bin was presented correctly on the day of collection and was missed, you must report this to the Council within three working days following the scheduled day.
The council is not obliged to provide this service where collection is prevented due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control, such as severe weather.
This agreement ensures that your garden waste is being collected lawfully under Section 34 of the Environmental Protection Act 1990.
The council reserves the right to audit bins (such as contents analysis) at any time to ensure proper use.
