Assessment for grammar school education in 2023

No arrangements will be made to assess children if request forms are received after 31 May 2022, unless they have moved to Wirral from outside of the borough.

You will need to complete a paper registration form if you wish to apply. The PDF file below may not be suitable to view for people with disabilities, users of assistive technology or mobile phone devices. If you need an accessible copy, please email schooladmissions@wirral.gov.uk

All children will take the assessment at a test centre. We will require proof of identification for your child before they can be assessed:

The assessment is two papers taken on the same day. The assessment took place on Tuesday 20 September.

The assessments will be provided by GL Assessment and will include questions on verbal reasoning, non-verbal reasoning, and mathematics.

What to do if your child is unwell on the day of the assessments

If your child is unwell on the day of the assessments, do not bring them along. Send an email to secondaryplaces@wirral.gov.uk with their name, and date of birth. They will be invited to another session later in September.
