A safe place for learning

We want everybody to enjoy their learning, feel safe and be treated fairly.

If you have any concerns or want to report something you saw or heard in your class or venue, please speak to a member of staff immediately or email lifelonglearning@wirral.gov.uk 

Once you have started your course there a number of ways we can support you:

  • we are a community partner for the Hygiene Bank providing products like shampoo, toothpaste, soap etc to those who need it – please speak to your tutor for more information
  • we have a laptop loan scheme which means you can use one of our laptops while you are on your course and return it to us once you have completed your course, speak to your tutor for more information
  • some learners may qualify for travel support with a bus pass, speak to your tutor for more information
  • if you have a disability or learning support need which will affect you in class, tell us about this when you sign up for your course so we can put arrangements in place, for example, rest breaks, large font handouts, support in class. Please tell our admin team before you start your course on 0151 666 3330
  • if you need childcare to attend our sessions, speak to the admin team before starting your course: 0151 666 3330
  • if you are not sure about which course to take or what to do next, speak to our Information advice and guidance team, arrange a 1:1 appointment by speaking to your tutor
  • we promote the British Values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, mutual respect and tolerance for all learners and staff
  • you will also see posters about 'Prevent' in our classrooms, your tutors will speak to you about how the Prevent Duty aims to stop people being drawn into extremist or terrorist behaviours. If you see or hear anything that could be related to terrorism, call the anti-terrorist hotline on 0800 789321

If you are the victim of abuse, or you know someone who you think is being or has been abused, then it is really important to seek help.
