- Christmas Eve (24 December): Open 9am to 1pm, and 2pm to 4pm (Heswall and Greasby closed)
- 25 December to 1 January: Closed
- From 2 January 2026: Normal opening hours (check Wallasey Central Library for details)
Join the library
To join the library, at this current time, please click on the link below. This will generate a temporary membership number and pin (for 3 weeks), to enable e-book and e-audio service access.
Once you have joined you will receive a Borrower Number and a PIN number. You can use these to access your online library account and our online resources.
Children
Children can join the library from any age. If you are under 16 you need to visit your library with a parent or carer to join.
Library services
When you join Wirral libraries, you can:
- borrow up to 16 books for three weeks at a time if you are an adult
- borrow up to 8 books for three weeks at a time if you are a child
- borrow CDs, DVDs, Blu-Rays, audio books, vocal scores and language courses
- renew items
- reserve items
- download e-books and e-audio books
- check your account history and renewal dates
- access a range of online reference resources
Items borrowed can be returned to any of Wirral’s Libraries.
