Untidy land or property can cause problems for the local community. It can look messy and may be a risk to health or safety.

Examples of untidy land and property include:

  • dumped rubbish
  • overgrown vegetation
  • broken fencing or boundaries
  • run-down or ruined buildings

Report untidy land to the council

We can investigate problems with untidy land. We may contact owners and occupiers and ask them to fix the problem.

It is the responsibility of owners and occupiers to maintain their land. We may be able to take enforcement action against anyone that does no cooperate.
