Wirral is legally obliged to make enough land available to allow for 12,045 houses to be built over 15 years – 803 every year. Everyone involved – our planning team, housing experts and Government Ministers – knows we do not have enough brownfield or urban sites to release to meet this target. We’ve therefore got to release some level of Green Belt land for residential developments.
