Grants for creative organisations - Argyle Street area, Birkenhead

Birkenhead has many creative businesses and organisations which are seeking to embrace change and to look ahead to future possibilities, even while COVID-19 continues to have an impact. These creative businesses and organisations are at at the heart of Birkenhead’s transformation.

Identified as a growth area for start-ups and as home to many of the town’s creative businesses, the area around Argyle Street is fast-emerging as a creative quarter in Birkenhead. The objective of the grant was to enable the growth and development of the creative sector in this area and contribute to the creative and cultural ambition of the local community, organisations and businesses.

The funding was for capital expenditure only, such as improvements to premises or land, which contribute to the creative and cultural ambition of the area and bring about growth in the creative sector.

Applications for this grant closed at 11:59pm on 3 January 2021. The following seven organisations were awarded grants ranging between £10,000 to £120,000:

  • Spider Project
