In 2019 Wirral Council invited the Local Government Association (LGA) to carry out a review of the planning department. The aim was to ensure it was able to help deliver the future regeneration ambitions of the authority.
The council has fully endorsed the recommendations of the review and developed an action plan with timescales to implement these. Regular updates will be provided on our progress.
The Local Government Association peer review team undertook a follow up review in July 2020. The report from their second visit can be viewed below. The council has endorsed the findings of progress made since the original review, and also the recommendations for further improvement.
