Planned Preventative Maintenance

Wirral Council is responsible for the maintenance and repair of many buildings. Our property portfolio comprises:

  • historic buildings
  • schools
  • libraries
  • adult and children’s services buildings 
  • office accommodation
  • leisure Centres
  • parks buildings

The Planned Preventative Maintenance Section covers many areas, including routine planned upgrades and replacement of the various building structures. It also covers the maintenance of plumbing, electrical systems, fire alarm systems, etc.

Various new buildings, extensions, and refurbishments have been undertaken throughout the Borough including:

  • cleaning and Overhaul of War Memorials
  • internal repaint of Wallasey Central Library
  • roof Sky-Lights works to Williamson Art Gallery
  • Oval Gate House Re-Roofing and Internal Refurbishment
  • Ashton Park Construction of new Toilet Block 
  • construction of a new Salt Barn Facility at the Transport Depot
  • West Kirby Concourse Re -Roofing
  • refurbishment of Hoylake Fountain
  • Irby Library Flat to Pitched Roof Conversion
  • Sommerville Primary Construction of new Dining Hall and Classroom Extension
  • Prenton Primary Concrete repairs
  • Wallasey Town Hall Internal Refurbishment including Improved Means of Escape incorporating New Lift and Internal Staircase
  • refurbishment of existing Sports Hall to provide New Fitness Suite at Guinea Gap Sports Centre
  • construction of 4G AstroTurf Pitches including floodlighting at Guinea Gap Sports Centre
  • external refurbishment of The Grange (Warren Golf Club) including re-roofing, new windows and stone repairs
  • external refurbishment of Hoylake Community Centre including re-roofing, new windows and re-pointing
  • design and Project Management of Stanley Special School and Pensby Primary Schools, two new schools on one site
