Public toilets

 

Public toilet facilities that are open include:

  1. West Kirby Marine Lake, Dee Lane
  2. Meols Parade Gardens, Hoylake
  3. Leasowe Common - junction of Pasture Road/Leasowe, Moreton
  4. Harrison Drive, New Brighton (temporarily closed during May 2023 due to maintenance)
  5. Thornton Hough (open weekends only for the football season)

The following toilets remain closed:

  1. Changing places facility, New Brighton
  2. Moreton Cross
  3. New Ferry
  4. West Kirby Concourse

All toilets have disabled facilities which are available during opening hours. There is now a charge of 30p for the use of a number of public toilets.

West Kirby Marine Lake

  • Next to West Kirby Marine Lake in the same building as the sailing school, Dee Lane, West Kirby, Wirral, CH48 0QA. There is a 30p charge per visit at this facility.

Leasowe Common

  • Junction of Pasture Road/Leasowe, Moreton

Harrison Drive, New Brighton

  • Harrison Drive, New Brighton, Wirral, CH45 3HL (approaching from Harrison Drive on the right hand side just before the roundabout leading to the promenade)

Thornton Hough (open weekends only for the football season)

  • Next to Thornton Green playing fields, Thornton Common Road, Thornton Hough, Wirral, CH63 0LU.

Opening times

  • Summer (May to September) 10am to 6pm
  • Winter (October to April: 9am to 4:30pm
  • Exceptional circumstances and extremely busy times of the year across Wirral may mean that some toilets have to be opened later and closed earlier than the times stated.

Alternative toilets across Wirral

Wirral Council will allow the public to use toilets that are located in freely accessible public areas in council buildings. Wirral Council buildings include:

  • public libraries
  • council-operated leisure centres
  • information centres in various public parks
