Fuel bills

Help if you are struggling with your fuel bills

There may be assistance available to help you reduce your fuel bills or to find out if you are eligible for welfare benefits.

By increasing the energy efficiency of your home, for example by installing loft insulation or improving your heating system, you could cut your energy costs.

You may be able to reduce the amount you pay for your energy by changing your electricity or gas supplier. Consumer Direct has some useful information to help you through the process of finding a new supplier. Consumer Focus can give you information on where to go to compare suppliers for your needs.

  • Consumer Direct can also help if you need some assistance with billing problems.
  • If you are in debt, your local Citizens Advice Bureau or Age Concern may be able to help.
  • You can also get advice on all benefit and tax credit issues from the Wirral Welfare Rights Unit
