The Gambling Act 2005 has been the responsibility of Wirral Council since
1 September 2007.  

A Licensing Policy has been produced which sets out the principles the Council will generally apply to promote the licensing objectives when making decisions under the Act. 

It is a requirement of the Gambling Act 2005 that the Council reviews it’s Statement of Policy every three years. 

Views are now invited from you on the terms of that Policy.  

Draft Licensing Policy

The Council welcomes the views of any interested parties and you should feel free to draw the attention of this document to others who may be interested in responding to the consultation.  Please clearly state which section your comments relate to i.e.: Introduction, Interested Parties and send them by email to licensing@wirral.gov.uk.

The Council wishes to thank you for taking the time to consider this document.  Your views are important to the Council in reaching a fair and proportionate Gambling Policy that discharges the Licensing Objectives. 

I would be grateful if you could provide any comments before 18 November 2021.  The final version of the Policy will be presented to full Council for their determination in December 2021.
