Wirral Libraries and The Reading Agency present the 2020 Summer Reading Challenge: The Silly Squad – encouraging children to read books that make them happy.

This year, the challenge is virtual due to libraries temporarily being closed but the selected theme means that those taking part aren’t going to miss out on any of the fun. Children can get involved with a variety of activities where they can win rewards, complete quizzes and take part in videos and games.

On your challenge you can unlock badges and discover books to read from The Silly Squad Book Collection or even use a special book sorter to help select the best book for you!

The Summer Reading Challenge takes place every summer holiday between June and September.

Families can sign up at any time by visiting the challenge website www.sillysquad.org.uk  and signing up for free.

The Summer Reading Challenge website is free to access and a place for children to rate and review the books they are reading as they progress towards their reading goal.

For even more activities along the way, follow Wirral Libraries on Facebook and Twitter.

Award-winning children’s book author and illustrator, Laura Ellen Anderson, created the bespoke illustrations for Silly Squad 2020.
