Festive Opening Hours
- Christmas Eve (24 December): Open 9am to 1pm, and 2pm to 4pm (Heswall and Greasby closed)
- 25 December to 1 January: Closed
- From 2 January 2026: Normal opening hours (check Wallasey Central Library for details)

Current charges for new titles: £2.40 (60+fee: £1.90), everything else is free.
Readable and accessible fiction for children and adults - available at all libraries.
There is a small selection of music CDs in Birkenhead and Wallasey Central Libraries.
Did you know? You can play CDs on your DVD player and in some cars!
For a retro movie night - DVDs are available in the following libraries:
Courtesy of donations from North West Ukulele Project and local musicians we have 10 ukuleles to borrow just like a book – 5 in each of the following libraries:
Drop in to enquire or call for availability. Ukuleles must be returned to the library they were borrowed from.
