Terms and Conditions of Entry to Double-Booked: Adult Reading Challenge 2026

1. The Challenge

  • The Wirral Libraries Double-Booked Adult Reading Challenge 2026 (the “Challenge”) is open to adults aged 18 and over registered at any Wirral Libraries branch.
  • To complete the Challenge, participants must read two books and submit two reviews to Wirral Libraries during the Challenge period.
  • The Challenge runs from 1st July to 30th September 2026. All completions must be recorded and signed off by a member of library staff before the closing date.
  • Entry is free. No purchase is necessary.
  • By joining the Challenge, participants are deemed to have read, understood, and accepted these Terms and Conditions.

2. Eligibility

  • The Challenge is open to adults aged 18 and over.
  • Participants must be registered library members at a Wirral Libraries branch. Membership is free – staff can register new members at any branch
  • Participants need to live within the boundaries of Wirral.

3. The Prize Draw

3a. Who is entered

  • Every participant who successfully completes the Challenge (reads two books and submits two reviews, signed off by library staff before the closing date) will be automatically entered into the prize draw. No separate entry form is required.
  • Each completing participant will receive one entry into the draw, regardless of how many branches they visited or how quickly they completed the Challenge.

3b. Prizes available

The following prizes will be drawn from the pool of all completers:

3c. How winners are selected

  • Winners will be drawn at random using your Library ID as your identifier.
  • The draw will take place on or around 14th October at Bebington Central Library, following the close of the Challenge.
  • The draw will be conducted by Wirral Libraries staff. The decision of the draw is final.
  • Each participant may win only one prize.
  • Winners will be contacted using the contact details held on their library account. It is the responsibility of participants to ensure their contact details are up to date.
  • Winners will be notified within 3 working days of the draw. If a winner cannot be contacted or does not respond within 14 days of notification, Wirral Libraries reserves the right to redraw and award the prize to an alternative winner.

3d. Claiming prizes

  • Prizes must be claimed in person at a Wirral Libraries branch. Proof of identity may be required.
  • Prizes are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash or any other alternative.
  • Wirral Libraries accepts no responsibility for prizes lost, damaged, or delayed once they have been handed over to the winner.

4. Data and Privacy

  • Personal information collected as part of the Double Booked Adult Reading Challenge will be held and processed by Wirral Council in accordance with its Privacy Notice and the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR).
  • Contact details will only be used to administer the Challenge, notify winners, and (where consent has been given) to share information about future library events and services.
  • Winners may be asked for their consent to be named in promotional materials. Participation in any publicity is entirely voluntary and has no bearing on entitlement to a prize.

5. General

  • Wirral Libraries reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions or withdraw or substitute any prize at any time, for reasons outside its control. Any changes will be communicated as soon as reasonably practicable.
  • Wirral Libraries’ decision on all matters relating to the Challenge is final.
    No correspondence will be entered into.
