Wirral Council public parks remain open for people to use for exercise. Visitor centres, enclosed sports pitches, skate parks and outdoor gyms (outdoor exercise equipment) remain closed. It is vital that visits to any of our parks follow the latest government rules, particularly those on social distancing.
Children's playgrounds
Children’s playgrounds began to reopen from Saturday 18 July. All council-owned playgrounds are now open excluding Price Street that is still awaiting repair works.
West Kirby Marine Lake walkway
The walkway around West Kirby Marine Lake will be trialled as a one-way path from Monday 8 February 2021.
To install the one-way path, the walkway will be closed between 8am to 4pm on Monday 8 February 2021. The trial follows requests and feedback from residents and will last for six weeks. It will be reviewed in line with COVID-19 government guidance.
Path users will enter at Dee Lane and walk anticlockwise around the lake, exiting at Sandy Lane.
Social distancing remains crucial and signage will be installed along the walkway to inform you of the new one-way system as well as a reminder to follow social distancing. If the walkway is busy, consider visiting at a quieter time or come back another day.
