Public parks remain open for people to use for exercise. Visitor centres (outdoor exercise equipment) remain closed. It is vital that visits to any of our parks follow the latest government rules, particularly those on social distancing.
The walkway around West Kirby Marine Lake continues to be trialled as a signposted one-way path to enable social distancing. The trial follows requests and feedback from residents. It will be reviewed in line with COVID-19 government guidance. Path users can enter at Dee Lane and walk anticlockwise around the lake, exiting at Sandy Lane. If the walkway is busy, consider visiting at a quieter time or come back another day.
Outdoor facilities that are open include:
- Wirral Sailing Centre and West Kirby Marine Lake (for those with their own equipment and licence)
- All four municipal golf courses (Hoylake, The Warren, Brackenwood and Arrowe Park)
- Football facilities at Leasowe, Guinea Gap, The Oval and Wirral Tennis Centre
- Tennis facilities at The Oval and Wirral Tennis Centre
- Grassroots football
- Crown bowling greens
Outdoor exercise sessions have also returned for those residents who want to get back to organised group sessions. Classes will be limited to five people and the instructor, to adhere to ongoing COVID-19 restrictions.

All facilities should be used in line with government guidance and the advice from governing bodies for these sports.
