Wirral Council is consulting on a new Homelessness and Rough Sleeping Strategy to address how the borough will tackle and prevent homelessness in the future.

Background to the development of the draft strategy

During the summer of 2019 Wirral Council appointed Arc4 consultants to undertake an independent comprehensive assessment and evaluation of the current and future extent of homelessness and rough sleepers in Wirral.

The review took place between August and November of 2019 and the findings of the review can be found by clicking on the links in the documents below.

Throughout the review process an extensive process of engagement and consultation has been undertaken with a wide variety of service providers, stakeholders and service users to ensure views and feedback has been taken on board informing final conclusions.

The findings of the Review have informed the development of Wirral’s new Homelessness and Rough Sleeping Strategy, which we would like residents, customers, partners and stakeholders views on.

Consultation on this draft strategy will be open from 10 January to 29 January 2020 at 5pm.
