There is widespread community transmission, for example between family members, with new positive COVID-19 cases being seen each day across Wirral and in all age groups.
The current level is 294 cases per week (in the 7 days to 25 February 2021, the most recent day for which figures are complete).
Weekly data from the Office for National Statistics (published on 2 March 2021) showed there had been 104 registered deaths in Wirral. 29.8% of these (or 31 in actual numbers) were COVID-19 deaths. Total deaths from COVID-19 in Wirral are now 927.
