There is community transmission, for example between family members, with new positive COVID-19 cases being seen each day across Wirral and in nearly all age groups.
The current level is 590 cases per week (in the 7 days to 22 June 2021, the most recent day for which figures are complete).
Weekly data from the Office for National Statistics (published on 22 June 2021) showed there had been 58 registered deaths in Wirral, with no COVID-19 deaths in that 7 days. Total deaths from COVID-19 in Wirral are now 970.
