There is widespread community transmission, for example between family members, with new positive COVID-19 cases being seen each day across Wirral and in all age groups.
The current level is 474 cases per week (in the 7 days to 11 February 2021, the most recent day for which figures are complete).
Weekly data from the Office for National Statistics (published on 9 February 2021) showed there had been 112 registered deaths in Wirral. 47.3% of these (or 53 in actual numbers) were COVID-19 deaths. Total deaths from COVID-19 in Wirral are now 850.
