What is the CVF sector?

The community, voluntary and faith (CVF) sector plays a hugely important role in Wirral, providing a wide range of activities and services to residents that improve health and wellbeing and contribute to the local economy. The sector has been critical to the response to the pandemic throughout and will continue to have a pivotal role in supporting community recovery and renewal.

COVID-19 has created unprecedented challenges and new experiences for everyone. The strength of links between people, within families, neighbourhoods, workplaces or wider communities gives us our sense of belonging and well-being. Local community assets and activities are fundamental to building tighter personal community networks which underpin greater independence, resilience and wellbeing.

How will the funding help?

The CVF sector is the bedrock for community recovery and renewal and this funding will enable a targeted focus at a local level and which provides feedback to partners about the things that are important to local communities as we continue to live with COVID-19.

This grant programme will build on the strong collaboration with the CVF sector and intends to connect local people, build confidence and resilience and to foster participation within communities focusing on vulnerable people, their families, and their carers.
