Putting up posters, stickers, signs and banners in public places without permission is against the law. If you're caught fly posting, you could face enforcement action — and so could the business being advertised.
Council officers can issue fixed penalty notices to anyone found fly posting on public streets.
This includes posters or stickers placed on:
- phone boxes
- bus stops and shelters
- bridges
- lampposts
If you see fly posting, you can report it online.
