West Kirby residents have been asked for their views on the new flood wall that will shortly be built along South Parade.

The public consultation for the options for West Kirby Flood Alleviation started on Monday 11 March, until Sunday 31 March 2019.

The consultant appointed to work with Wirral Council to design the 1.1km floodwall, AECOM, put options on display and hosted a series of drop-in sessions in March in West Kirby to give people the chance to comment on a number of design options.

The consultation period closed on Sunday 31 March 2019.

What happens next?

Detailed design of the structure is continuing, taking into consideration points raised during the consultation exercise. Once completed, a planning application will be submitted and if passed, construction will begin soon afterwards.
