Our Three Priorities

Improved Open Spaces

To increase the number of Green Flag parks in Wirral South, year on year, and to ensure accessibility is improved in each chosen location

In 2014/2015 our work focused on Mayer Park in Bebington, and the park has recently received it’s Green Flag Award which can be seen flying high every day!

In 2015/2016 the focus is on Dawstone Park in Heswall, and the Friends of Dawstone Park, with the support of the Constituency Committee, have put a lot of effort into the park (over 140 hours collectively!) and there has already been a noticeable difference in the park.

In 2016/2017 and 2017/2018, Torr Park in Eastham and New Ferry Park in Bromborough will be the two joint focuses of the priority. If you would like to get involved with the work on either of these parks please contact the Engagement Officer Shannon Kennedy.

Gaps In Youth Provision

To work with internal and external partners to identify and rectify any existing gaps in provision of youth services in Wirral South.

Response counselling service

Wirral South Constituency Committee, in partnership with Response, offers a Wirral South Specific counselling service for young people aged 13-18 (inclusive).

Sessions can be booked via Response and are currently available at:

At Bebington Youth Club and South Wirral Youth Hub there will also be a drop-in service, allowing young people to attend and have a chat. If they feel counselling may help, this can be arranged for them.

Referrals can be made directly to Response, or young people can come to one of the drop-in sessions.

For more information call Response on 0151 666 4123 or email [email protected]

Tackling Social Isolation

Identify the various groups affected by social isolation in Wirral South. Then establish the evident gaps in provision throughout the constituency and aim to either support existing providers or commission a new piece of work.
