Category 1 Responders have a duty to risk assesses local risks to Merseyside, this is collated in a document known as the Community Risk Register (CRR)
The risks in the CRR are grouped into themes:
- accidents and system failures
- natural hazards
- human and animal diseases
- societal
- malicious
- local risks – relevant to Merseyside
From the list, we can review what risks are pertinent to the Wirral to help us plan:
- flooding (coastal, river and surface water)
- storms and severe weather
- environmental accidents
- major fires
- marine pollution
- animal diseases
