Between 3 June and 24 July 2026, the Council invited potential development sites to be submitted as part of the preparation of a new Strategic Housing and Economic Land Availability Assessment (SHELAA) through a ‘Call for Sites’ process.
Sites submitted through the Call for Sites will be assessed through the Council’s SHELAA. This will consider whether the site is suitable, available and achievable for housing or economic development uses (retail, leisure, cultural, office, warehousing etc).
Please note that even if the Council identifies land in the SHELAA as having potential for development, this does not indicate or confirm that the Council will allocate the site for development or grant planning permission in the future.
You can submit a site by completing a 'Call for Sites' form:
Please note that whilst your personal details will be protected the site details you submit may be included in the updated SHELAA.
In order to identify the site to be considered, please upload or attach a site plan (1:1,250 or 1:2,500 in scale) with the boundaries of the site clearly outlined in red).
Important: Before completing the form, please read the following guidance notes.
