Electric Vehicle Charging Point (EVCP) Relief

You can get 100% business rates relief for 10 years for installing qualifying EV charging points or EV only forecourts. These are assessed separately by the VOA. 

Key Details on EVCP Relief are as follows:

  • The relief applies to electric vehicle charging points that are separately assessed by the Valuation Office Agency (VOA) and to dedicated electric vehicle-only forecourts.
  • This is a 100% relief, intended to last for ten years to encourage infrastructure growth.
  • It is part of wider government efforts to support the transition to electric vehicles by ensuring charging infrastructure does not incur high, immediate business rate costs.
