Indoor dedication and online Book of Remembrance
The Remembrance Room is a quiet place for reflection. It is near the entrance of Landican Cemetery and contains two types of memorials. These are a Book of Remembrance and inscribed memorial wall plaques known as a boutonniere plaques.
Book of Remembrance
An entry inscribed in the Book of Remembrance is a permanent memorial. It allows you to remember a loved one in a personal and unique way.
An entry in the Book of Remembrance includes:
- an inscription
- the date the entry is to appear in the book. This doesn’t have to be the date of death. Instead could be a birth date, or an anniversary.
- an emblem or other artwork that may be special to the family
Each volume of the book contains entries for three months and will be open on today's day.
The entry can also be viewed via a digital screen in the Remembrance Room.
It will also be shown in the online Book of Remembrance.

Entries must be received by the following dates to ensure inclusion into the current year. Entries received after these dates will be included in the following year.

Replicas
We can also offer a copy of the inscription in the form of:
- a Remembrance Card or Booklet of Remembrance
- a Miniature booklet with several pages for future use
These can be bought when you buy an entry in the main book, or at any time in the future.

How to arrange an entry in the Book of Remembrance
To arrange and entry in the Book of Remembrance, complete the online form. Inscriptions are a minimum of two lines.
The date for the entry must be stated. This shows what date and page the entry will appear on. This doesn’t have to be the date of death but instead could be a birth date, or an anniversary. You have the option to provide an emblem or artwork with the inscription.
There is a deadline for applications for each quarter. Applications must be received by the deadline for them to appear in the Book for the coming year.
For an entry to for the first anniversary of the person's death, please apply no later than 6 months after the funeral.

Boutonniere plaque
These attractive plaques are made of re-constituted granite. They will be placed in the Book of Remembrance room at Landican Cemetery and Crematorium.
Four types of plaque are available to lease for a period of 5 years:
- text only
- text with a motif
- text with a hand painted motif
- text with a photograph
Each plaque includes a posy holder at the side for the placing of artificial flowers.
Renewing the memorial plaque
When the lease period is coming to an end, we will contact you to ask if you wish to renew if for a further term. If you do not wish to renew the memorial, we will remove the plaque from display. It will be available for you to collect if you wish.
Displays will be removed at the end of the lease term if we are unable to contact you. Please tell us if your your contact details change.
