Wirral Register Office is closed for face-to-face appointments.

All birth and notice of marriage appointments have been deferred for the foreseeable future. All marriage ceremonies have been cancelled for the foreseeable future. Death registrations can now be made by phone

Registering a death

To register a death complete a death registration form and we will call you back to register the death.

Changes to funeral services

To allow adequate social distancing, measures have been taken to protects the safety of residents and staff during this time. Public toilets will only be open during service times, services will all be 20 minutes long and all services will be at a standard rate.

Families and Funeral Directors are asked to limit the number of mourners attending funerals, many of whom could be elderly and vulnerable, to no more than 15 mourners until further notice. We very much hope that mourning families and friends will understand the need for this change and families are asked speak to their appointed funeral director if required.
