The council has to set a balanced budget for the next financial year. It needs to make savings of £27 million.

A number of changes to council services are being proposed. This will help to bridge the gap in next year's budget. The measures will also help to give the authority a more secure financial future.

The council would provide fewer but much more high quality services. It would also be able to invest in areas which will best benefit the people of Wirral.

No decisions on any of the proposals have been made yet. The council’s cross-party Policy and Resources Committee will consider the proposals. A final decision on the budget will be made by all members of the council in February.
