Wirral Council, like other councils across the country, continues to face challenges in providing good quality services under significant financial constraints.
In December 2019, Wirral Council’s Cabinet put forward a budget proposal to find more than £30 million worth of savings for the coming financial year.
What we spend is under pressure due to a combination of inflation and increasing demand for our adult and children’s support services, this means that we have tough decisions to make.
We are looking at all of our services to see what we can do better, cheaper, and more effectively whilst minimising the impact on the most vulnerable in our borough.
Residents are being encouraged to give their views and suggestions on the council budget, which will be considered when the final decisions are made in March 2020.
