Using Google Maps to report a problem

On a mobile or tablet

Moving around the map

Use one finger to drag the map to show the location you want to report.

Zooming in and out

To zoom in you pinch the map. Bringing your finger and thumb together zooms in, moving them apart zooms out. You can also tap on the plus and minus buttons in the top-left of the map.

Choosing a location

To choose a location tap the map and a pin will appear. To move the pin just tap the location that you want to move the pin to.

Moving the whole page up and down

To move the whole page up and down keep your finger on the edge of the edge of the screen and move it up and down.

On a laptop or desktop

Click on the left mouse button and hold it down while you move the mouse to drag the map to the location you want to report.

Zooming in and out

To zoom in and out click on the plus and minus buttons at the top-left of the map. If your mouse has a wheel between the two buttons you can also use that to zoom. Push the wheel forwards to zoom in and backwards to zoom out.

Choosing a location

Point the arrow at a location and click. A pin will show the location that you have chosen. To move the pin just click on the location where you want to move it to.
