The Local Green Space Designations: Review of Sites assesses the extent to which 55 sites put forward for Local Green Space designation during the Regulation 18 consultation on the Wirral Local Plan 2020 to 2035 Issues and Options Document meet the criteria for designation as Local Green Space, as defined by the National Planning Policy Framework. The outputs of this work will be used by the Council to designate areas of Local Green Space as appropriate.
It should be noted that a final decision as to whether to designate sites as Local Green Space will also need to take account of emerging proposals and masterplans, whether they are of strategic importance to providing housing or employment land for the Local Plan, and whether site boundary changes are required.
