Wirral Council maintains about 160km (100 miles) of public footpaths bridleways and byways, plus other ‘permissive’ paths and off road cycle tracks.
The official public rights of way are recorded in the Definitive Map. A full public access route map showing all routes is in the early stages of development.
- Four Walk Wirral guides are available to download or from main libraries and country park visitor centres. The leaflets show public rights of way, cycle routes and other information to enable you to plan a walk.
