Council travel plan

Wirral Council has had a travel plan since 2002 - the current Travel Plan runs from 2010/11 – 2014/15. The Travel Plan is a range of measures designed to promote sustainable transport use by Wirral Council Staff. These measures help the Council to reduce it’s carbon footprint by reducing the reliance of staff on using a car as their only form of transport.

The Travel Plan is aimed towards Wirral Council Staff and helps:

• To provide staff with a variety of choices for travel to work and business travel
• To make a positive contribution to the health of staff by encouraging active forms of travel such as walking and cycling
• To improve the environment of the Borough by reducing unnecessary travel, particularly unnecessary single occupancy car use.
