Traffic lights

The Council is responsible for the design, installation, maintenance, repair and operation of all signal-controlled junctions and pedestrian crossings within the borough. To also make sure that all of the equipment is in a good and safe condition and operating in accordance with the requirements of each particular location.

To report a fault with a set of traffic signals or a signal-controlled pedestrian crossing (e.g. pelican crossing), contact Streetscene or use the online reporting button on the right.

If the fault is an emergency - for instance a traffic signal pole has been hit by a vehicle, or if wiring is exposed - please report the details to Streetscene by phone on (0151) 606 2004 weekdays between 09.00 and 17:00. At any other time please phone the out of hours service on (0151) 647 7810.
