Bollards - Illuminated

The Council is responsible for the maintenance of approximately 1400 traffic bollards across the Borough.

Except in certain circumstances, bollards that are used to indicate the side, or sides, on which vehicles may pass traffic islands must be illuminated. In the past these bollards were illuminated by means of electric lighting. In order to save energy, bollards are now being used that are illuminated by solar powered LEDs.
