Trains on Wirral are operated by Merseyrail.  Merseyrail is one of the most punctual and reliable railway networks in the UK and also tops the passenger satisfaction levels league table.

Network Rail owns the infrastructure, including the railway tracks, signals, tunnels, bridges, level crossings and most stations.
