How to apply for a Residents' Parking Scheme
Wirral Council do not have a budget set aside for the provision of Residents’ Parking Schemes.
In 2007, seven pilot areas across Wirral took part in a consultation regarding the possible implementation of Residents’ Parking Schemes, after a number of enquiries and petitions from residents within the areas experiencing parking difficulties caused by non-residents.
Following the consultation a report was presented to Cabinet, proposing that resident schemes could be set up and administered by Wirral Council if they were part funded by the residents, by a set up fee of approximately £75 plus a £10 yearly charge for permit issuing, maintenance and enforcement.
Cabinet concluded that Residents’ Parking Schemes would not be implemented in any of the seven pilot areas that took part in the consultation, as the majority of residents involved simply did not support the scheme or were not prepared to contribute to the funding.
