The board aims to raise awareness among all staff, care providers, customers, family carers and residents of Wirral about what constitutes abuse, how to respond, and what actions to take to prevent abuse reoccurring.
It continually reviews the operational systems and processes that reduce the risk of abuse, while providing a strategic overview to ensure a consistent professional response to abuse and inadequate care.
The board co-ordinates what is done by each person or body represented on it to safeguard and promote the welfare of vulnerable adults in Wirral, ensures that member organisaions work effectively individually and together, and crosses the boundaries between the statutory, voluntary and independent sectors. It works pro-actively to drive forward the duty of all partner agencies to safeguard and promote the welfare of vulnerable adults in Wirral.
