Disabled Parking Bay Removal Request
Wirral Council has administered a scheme to provide on-street parking bays for blue badge holders. If you, as a resident, become aware that a disabled parking bay is no longer required then the Council will look to remove the bay.
This can help to manage parking within a road and assist in not having road space unoccupied (particularly overnight) and allow residents a greater availability to be able to park near to their home.
The Council will investigate and, if the bay is no longer required, will make provision to have the bay removed. Please be aware that there may be more than one blue badge holder resident at a property and blue badge holders are not required to display their badges when parked in advisory bay. Additionally it is possible for a new resident / occupier to take over use of a bay provided for another resident where they have a blue badge and a vehicle registered to that address.
Some reasons why a disabled parking bay may no longer be required are:
• there is no longer a blue badge holder resident at the property
• there is no longer a vehicle registered at the address (the designated driver must live at the address )
• alternative off-street parking space has been provided within the property boundary
If you wish to raise an enquiry regarding a particular location please complete the online request and provide full details and reasons of why you consider that a disabled parking bay is no longer required and we will investigate this matter.
