New Opening hours

Mon - Fri 9.30am - 4.30pm
Saturday 10.00am - 1.00pm (Closed Sat from 3 March 2012)
Closed Sunday

From the beginning of March 2012 we will no longer be open on Saturdays. This change has been made in order to increase the number of staff available to the service during the week.

 

Please note that access to the Service is via Shore Road.

If you wish to visit Wirral Archive Services, please bear in the mind the following:

  • Please telephone in advance if you wish to book a microfilm reader or computer
  • On the intercom ring the buzzer for Wirral Archives Service and we will come and collect you.
  • Upon arrival, you will be asked to show some form of identification and to sign our visitors' book
  • Lockers are available to store your personal belongings
  • Please bring a pencil with you to make notes (pens are not allowed in the search room)
  • The search room is accessible for wheelchair users
  • Please note that there are no refreshment facilities available on site, however, there are numerous cafés and restaurants nearby. Details of these local facilities are available from Archives staff.
  • If you are planning to visit Wirral Archives Service on a Saturday, please let us know in advance if you would like to look at documents, especially newspapers, so that we can get them out for you beforehand.

Parking

There is no external parking available at Cheshire Lines (apart from disabled parking).

In addition to the Bridge Street car park, car users may use the pay and display public car parks available near Conway Park Station and on Cleveland Street.

If you require disabled parking at Cheshire Lines, please let us know in advance and we will be happy to arrange this for you.
