Wirral Sailing Centre, based at the 52 acre West Kirby Marine Lake, offers water sports activities and courses to anyone aged 8 and over.

It is recognised by the Royal Yachting Association, approved by the British Canoe Union and is registered with the Adventure Activities Licensing Authority.

Activities Include:

Tasters:

For those who are not too sure about taking to the waves, these 3 hour ‘have-a-go’ sessions will give you the chance to see what its all about. Sessions are available for sailing, windsurfing or kayaking.

Courses:

These intermediate and higher level courses are designed for those who have completed a beginners course, and want to further their skills and knowledge. Courses available for windsurfing, dinghy sailing, kayaking and power boating.

Powerboating Certificates:

From a basic introduction to powerboating to safety certificates and more advanced of certificates of competence, the Sailing Centre operates a range of powerboating courses.

Block Bookings:

For youth groups, schools, scouts, guides or just fun with friends, group bookings are available for all watersport activities. Special discounts are available for group bookings of 18 or more!

Childrens' Parties:

Two hours of fun and games on the water. Room available for your own refreshments afterwards. £13.00 per person & minimum booking of 6 per session.

Log Hours:

For a small fee Log Hours will entitle you to make use of all the equipment that was available to you during your course, together with the experts on hand to offer advice and guidance.

Private Tuition:

An ideal way of learning a new sport or mastering a new skill. If you can't spare a whole weekend or you just want to learn a bit each week, then this is the way for you.

Splash!

A new session for children aged 6-8 years, offering 90 minutes of fun and games on the water! Splash runs during the school holidays. £12.00 for 90 minutes.

Private craft can be admitted by purchase of either a daily, seasonal or annual license - costs for 2012/2013 can be found in the downloadable pricelist. 

* Please note: Water sports fans are reminded to wear appropriate footwear whilst using the Marine Lake due to the presence of weaver fish with sharp poisonous barbs.
