Cycling
Wirral is a great place to cycle, with both coastal and countryside routes available for leisure rides.
These routes include the Wirral Way, which forms part of Wirral Country Park. It is a 19Km (12 mile), predominantly traffic free path in Wirral and runs from West Kirby into Cheshire.
There are also 4 fantastic Cycle Trails to experience the very best of Wirral's Coast and Countryside. All four cycling route maps can be downloaded for you to print off and use.

The National Cycle Network Route 56 also runs right through Wirral, linking into Liverpool, Cheshire and North Wales. In Wirral, it will lead you around the historic coastline of Seacombe and New Brighton with views of the famous Liverpool skyline and across Liverpool Bay, as well as taking in many picturesque villages throughout Wirral.
Walking
Wirral is well served for walking with over 75 miles of public rights of way around the coast or within one of the many and varied country parks.
There is a real diversity of walking terrain, encompassing woodlands, heathlands, parklands, promenades and beaches.
Wirral's rich culture and heritage can easily be discovered on foot. You can walk through beautiful countryside, stumble on pretty villages or walk along miles of beaches with clear views of the Welsh shore on one side and the World-famous Liverpool skyline on the other.
